Smoke alarms play a vital role in ensuring your family is protected in your home. Photoelectric smoke alarms are used to detect particles of combustion. Why should you upgrade?

More often, older homes will have ionisation smoke alarms installed. The problem with these alarms is that it takes significantly longer to detect smouldering fires. In some tests, older alarm (ionisation) reacted 15-50 Minutes SLOWER than photoelectric alarms. Another issue is that older smoke alarms are usually not interconnected and need to be replaced (According to new QLD legislation). Have you ever had an alarm triggered for no reason or beeping constantly? This is also a sign that your alarms are not working correctly or has a low battery. New photoelectric alarms can use mains power or a 10-year lithium battery. Photoelectric detect fires quicker, you will have fewer false alarms and beeps.
