How long does a switchboard upgrade actually take?
A standard residential switchboard replacement takes 4-6 hours start to finish. We isolate the house from the grid, swap the board, Install RCBO safety switches on all final sub-circuits, label everything properly, and test every circuit before we pack up. We guarantee you’ll have a safer home & power back on by the end of the day.
Will my power be off the whole time?
Generally power will be off for a day for a full upgrade while it will only be off for 15-20 minutes when installing a safety switch, This is to ensure the safety of our staff as well as you. We tell you the exact start time the day before so you can plan for fridges, freezers, and Wi-Fi-dependent work. If you’ve got medical equipment that needs continuous power, tell us when you book — we can almost always arrange a workaround (Generator, back up batteries, etc.)
